At Trilogy, giving back to the environment for the precious building materials it provides is as important as building the best, eco-friendly homes. We do our part by using wood certified from sustainable forests, conserving lumber and recycling construction materials whenever possible. With garages equipped with electric-vehicle charging stations, weather-responsive sprinkler systems, energy-efficient appliances and so much more, Trilogy homes are designed to build eco-friendly living into your life.
Shea Green Certified™
At Trilogy, we're 100% "Shea Green Certified™," not only meeting but exceeding the most rigorous industry standards for green living. This means our homes go beyond the requirements of the EPA's ENERGY STAR® label, and are potentially eligible for tax credits under the Energy Policy Act of 2005 (http://www.eflbuilder.com/Energy.jsp). Living in a Shea Green Certified™ home will help you do your part for the environment while you enjoy the cost savings of superior energy efficiency.
Any builder can claim that its homes are environmentally sound and energy efficient. However, Shea Homes goes beyond others to guarantee that your Trilogy home is 100% superior when it comes to living green. We're so sure of this, we provide a guarantee that the energy used to heat and cool your home will not exceed the calculated Guaranteed Usage of that home.*

Certified Wood from Sustainable Forests
At Trilogy, we use certified wood from sustainable forests for framing and cabinetry whenever possible. This is one of many reasons we're among the select group of builders that help lessen the depletion of old-growth forests.
Where does the wood in your home come from? If you own a Trilogy home, you'll know that whenever possible, the wood used in your home is certified from tree farms that are being renewed and aren't in danger of depletion.
Recycled, High-Performing Insulation
By using insulation made from recycled, sustainable material, we offer an even greater opportunity for you to cut energy costs while protecting the environment. That's because our recycled "cocoon insulation" provides a monolithic blanket of protection that saves you money by blocking air infiltration and convection currents that are both primary causes of energy loss.
Unlike other builders who install their insulation in sheets which sag, have gaps and matt, we blow ours into every crack and crevice around your pipes, ducts and electrical wires leaving no room for unwanted airflow.

Lumber Conservation
Starting with the engineering principles they're built on, Trilogy homes are designed to preserve our precious natural resources. Even our framing is eco-friendlier. That's because we use Optimal Value Engineering to conserve the use of lumber by including only essential, structural elements.
Unlike many builders, our homes are stamped by a structural engineer and designed to use less wood than traditional framing without compromising structural integrity.
Construction Material Recycling Program
Recycling construction materials helps reduce stress on landfills and preserve natural resources. Our team and TradePartner®s are committed to recycling on the job — from wood and drywall to cardboard boxes and cartons.
Most builders don't incorporate a recycling program for construction materials. For Trilogy teams and TradePartner®s recycling is a critical part of the home-building process.
Water-Conserving Appliances and Fixtures
From energy-efficient, high-performance Energy Star® appliances to water-saving, low-flow faucets and showerheads, your Trilogy home is equipped to help you to save our natural resources, and your money, every day.
Not all builders provide appliances with their homes. Trilogy not only provides them, we ensure that our appliances are Energy Star® brands whenever possible.
Outdoor Water Conservation
With the WeatherTRAK® Water Resource Management System, you don't need to remember to turn off the sprinkler or adjust the timer. Our high-tech system automatically schedules and adjusts watering based on local weather conditions and the needs of your specific landscape.
Most sprinkler systems lack the precision necessary to keep your lawn in peak condition while conserving water. Ours communicates directly with 17,000 weather stations to adjust automatically and save approximately 13,500 gallons of water per home per year.

Electric-Vehicle Charging Stations
Using less fuel helps you reduce your carbon footprint. To help you do your part, Trilogy garages are equipped with charging stations for electric cars and golf carts.
Electric cars and golf carts are growing in popularity, and Trilogy is one of the few builders in the industry to include a dedicated 20 amp circuit receptacle for electrical vehicle charging.
So What's Your Carbon Footprint?
If improving your carbon footprint is important, we’re your builder. Our overall commitment to producing homes in this program for just one year will yield carbon emission savings over 10 years, equivalent to the amount of carbon stored by a 63,400 acre pine or fir forest in one year. And these homes are expected to last up to 100 years!
Trilogy not only improves your carbon footprint through our energy saving efforts, but our overall commitment to an eco-friendlier program improves the environment incrementally by saving trees, reducing the pollutants caused by urban run off into wildlife habitats and reducing overall water usage.
